At
Rolling Oaks Christian Church, you'll find a vibrant, loving, and accepting
group of people.
We have a diverse congregation, and offer ministries for all ages including
weekly adult Bible study,
children's and youth ministries, adult and children's choirs, as well
as various fellowship activities
throughout the year.
Parking for those with disabled parking cards are
available. Drop off or pick up of mobility-impaired people is easy as our facilities are wheelchair
friendly. All areas of our sanctuary and administrative
office building and our fellowship buildings are
built on one level; we have no stairs or elevators.
Mission statement
The mission of this congregation is to share the
good news of God's saving love with our neighbors
who are far from Christ Jesus, our Risen Lord and Savior, by calling
them into covenant in fellowship
with the family of faith, and teaching them to live the Great Commandment
as proclaimed by Jesus:
"You
shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your
soul, and with all your mind,
and with all your strength. This is the greatest and first commandment.
And a second is one in the
same: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
(Mt 22:34-40; Mk 12: 28-34, Lk 10:25-28)
Our
commitment
As a community of faith within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ),
we commit ourselves to
support one another in life's journey, to grow in the understanding
of our faith, and to reach out
to other faith communities with compassion and acceptance. We continue
to seek new ways in
which we can share the love of Christ by developing our congregation,
increasing the effectiveness
of our ministries, and inviting all of God's people to become participants
in the Gospel.
Communion and Baptism

We celebrate the
Lord's Supper (known also as Holy Eucharist or
Holy Communion) weekly. When we
celebrate the Lord's Supper, we recognize that it is instituted by
Christ, and in His Name, all are welcome all to the table.
We practice baptism by
submersion; we recognize that
all baptism performed in
the Name of the Triune God — submersion,
immersion, or sprinkling — unites
us to Christ and to each
other in faith, mission and community.
Lay Ministry
We
believe that all persons, lay and ordained, are called to be ministers
of the Gospel and ministers
to one another.
