Prayer Chains and Prayer Lists
Rolling Oaks Christian Church believes in the power of prayer and is always working to pray for the needs of others.
Prayer ministries are continually evolving as we are led by the Holy Spirit and the felt hurts and hopes of those around us.
When there is an urgent/emergency need for
prayer, a devoted group of church members pray for people at
that specific time of need (i.e., surgery, illness, death, travel, etc.).
Prayer chain members are contacted by phone or via email.
If you have an urgent prayer need, call the church office at
(210) 654-1744. If the office is closed (after hours,
etc.) call Pastor Fred at (210) 240-0098.
For those important
prayer requests that may not be so urgent, a dedicated group of
people come together in our sanctuary - our "House of Prayer" -
each Thursday at 11:00 am, and pray for everyone on the current
prayer list (see next paragraph) and others who are in need.
A current prayer list of members, family, and friends needing prayers are identified in the
monthly newsletter, the
ROCC Beat; the
weekly electronic newsletter, the
ROCC
E-Beat; and the Sunday bulletin.
Prayers are offered for joys, concerns, God’s sustaining
presence, and sympathies
–
as well as local and global concerns.
Call the church office at
654-1744
or send an email to
Prayer Requests
to join the prayer chain or make a request known.
After hours for emergency needs call
(210) 240-0098.
Children's
Ministries
Rolling Oaks Christian Church is committed to providing a welcoming, nurturing environment for children and youth through a team of dedicated and loving teachers and nursery caregivers.
If you have questions that are not
answered below, contact Pastor Lin Alyn Duncan, by E-Mail at
Minister of Children
Children's
Moment in Worship
Each Sunday during both services there
is a Children’s Moment during which
children ages three-year-olds through
3rd grade are invited to
gather around the pastor and hear a short
lesson before leaving for Children's Church.
Children’s Church
Children ages
three through fifth
grade have the opportunity to
participate in Children's Church each Sunday during both worship
services where they can engage in an exciting Bible study
and make crafts related to the lesson.
During the 9:00 am service a portion of Children's Church is
devoted to either ROCC Ringers bell choir practice or ROCC
Chanters, an activity of memorizing scripture by learning
rhythmically to chant them. These children periodically
participate in adult worship by sharing their bells or chants.
Children’s Third Sunday
Outings --
On
February 15th,
immediately after second service, children and their families
will travel to Natural Bridge Cavern to learn about a very
special part of God’s creation.
Natural Bridge Cavern is the
largest cavern in Texas, and one of the loveliest in the nation.
Cost is $9.95 for children.
Adults may wait in the snack
bar/gift shop/museum for the children, or (if they wish)
accompany us for $17.95.
We will enjoy sack lunches at the
dinosaur playground prior to entering the cavern.
We should be back at the church by
4:00 pm.
Please plan to wear sneakers.
The temperature year around in the
cave is a comfortable 70°.
We are anticipating an afternoon of
good Christian fellowship as well as an opportunity to
experience awe and wonder at the beauty of a seldom explored
part of our world.
